PLAYING THE PART OF A GODLY BUSINESS WOMAN, MOTHER AND SPOUSE

For the past thirty years, women are rising and shining in their different environments. However, it is time to re-emphasize and energize women to continue rising and shining. Breaking new ground in science, medical, educational, business and other sectors. Women have been fashioned to embrace change, be teachable, and work together with other men and women to achieve higher pinnacles of success.
“Who could ever find a wife like this one— she is a woman of strength and mighty valor! She’s full of wealth and wisdom. The price paid for her was greater than many jewels.”
Proverbs 31:10 TPT
Women are taskmasters and multitaskers, balancing life, spirituality, marriage, children, sport, laundry and a fully functional home, all at the same time. While the world has created a misleading perception of working women, women all around the world are rising up, taking hands and making lasting change.
As women, we should think of ourselves as, world-changers, money-makers, a Saturday-baker, and Sunday-worshipper. The moment your thinking changes, so will the perception of a new reality be. What seemed impossible to accomplish now seems possible. Become unstoppable by finding your Place of Power. The place where your passion, values, and goals align.
How does a woman look like that has found her place of power?
“She searches out continually to possess that which is pure and righteous. She delights in the work of her hands.”
Proverbs 31:13 TPT
1. She has Resilience
A woman who has resilience has the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties, she is able to bounce back from anything, every single time, with momentum.
A powerful illustration on Linked In showed two balls running on two tracks, one in a straight line and the other on a track that runs up and down. Two balls, the same size, were released at the same time on both the tracks to see which ball reaches the end of the track first. To my surprise, the ball on the track that runs up and down reached the end of the track first. The ups and downs on the track built momentum and gave it the bounce back after the downward slump it was faced with. The downhill gave it the spring in its step to go through the lowest points faster. All this helped the ball to reach the end faster, than the ball running on a straight track.
A resilient woman faces her ups and downs, she does not let them keep her down, she builds momentum and she finishes her race well. She is flexible but still be able to complete her tasks. Reaching your dream, or the end of your race will require daily actions while building momentum.
“She wraps herself in strength, might, and power in all her works.”
Proverbs 31:17 TPT
Do you know what your dream is? To be able to realize a dream, you need to have a vision. To realise your vision, you need to have a goal, to have a goal you need to complete certain actions or tasks. These actions are built by habits, which are formed daily, by keeping your momentum towards your dream
2. She has Perseverance
Perseverance is to have the attitude to not give up, no matter what. A much-needed attribute for women in business or in the market place or at home raising children. It is a requirement to consistently form good habits, the diligence to make time for yourself and the determination to have your priorities in order.
Most people don’t fail because of bad ideas, they fail because of misperceptions. Marnus Broodryk, in his book, 90 Rules For Entrepreneurs say “To succeed, set your expectation to their most realistic setting”. Be realistic about what it will take to succeed, as a wife, as a mom and as a woman in business.
“She tastes and experiences a better substance, and her shining light will not be extinguished, no matter how dark the night.”
Proverbs 31:18 TPT
Make time in order to give yourself time to succeed, and then persevere, no matter how dark and difficult it may seem, prepare and persevere for whatever lies ahead.
3. She has a positive attitude
Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude – Zig Ziglar.
Sometimes we do have to tell ourselves “This is now mind over matter”. We will never be able to control every situation around us, but we are certainly able to control ourselves, our emotions and the way we choose to respond to a situation. Naturally, a positive attitude will lead to a positive outcome. God will use our lowest places and biggest disappointments as launching pads to greater promotions. However, it remains our choice of how we will respond to that disappointment.
“Bold power and glorious majesty are wrapped around her as she laughs with joy over the latter days.”
Proverbs 31:25 TPT
Being positive starts with one thought at a time:
- Be so positive that negative people don’t want to be near you
- “You are never fully dressed without a smile”, appropriate this by smiling at yourself while you are getting ready for another day. At least today if no one smiles at you, you have seen at least one positive action.
- Peace is not the absences of trouble; it is the presence of God. When you are filled with peace, you will be filled with the love and power of God, you will have a positive outlook and solution for every situation. Staying in the presence of God fills you with that peace that surpasses all understanding. That positivity and outlook on life propel you to a greater outcome for any situation.
4. She is fully present for her purpose.
It’s is not only important to have a presence when you walk into a room or when you are with someone, but to be present. Be present in the moment. Stop, listen and respond.
With the busy lives we are living we can so easily and quickly get distracted from what we are busy with. We don’t stop, we don’t listen, we react instead of responding. We are bathing the children while we are still busy on a phone call, laying them down to sleep and still sending a text to a friend. At work, we are in one meeting answering emails for other issues at work. Having a conversation with hubby but really more interested in the home remodeling program showing on tv, because you really still need to redo your bathroom. The list goes on.
In order for us to maximize our influence and impact, we need to increase our presence by being fully involved in the moment. I love how The Apostle Paul says it in 1 Corinthians, “Follow my example as I follow the example of Christ”. Jesus fully invested his time, effort and attention wherever He went and with whatever He was busy with. He was fully present for His purpose meeting all needs, emotional, physical and spiritual.
“She watches over the ways of her household and meets every need they have.”
Proverbs 31:27 TPT
Growth, healthy relationships, time management, and emotional intelligence will start to develop and increase as we put these basic and simple things into practice. You are a diamond in the hand of God, you have a purpose, God will cut away the rock that cannot be used for the good of the diamond that will shine into eternity.
You owe it to yourself to be fully present for your purpose. You will be able to lay your head down and say “Today I showed up as the best version of myself”!
5. She is tech-savvy
“Her teachings are filled with wisdom and kindness as loving instruction pours from her lips.”
Proverbs 31:26 TPT
Practical steps also need to be taken to remain on top of your industry by teaching, training and developing yourself. How are you developing yourself to be the best in what you are doing? To be the best mom you can be, the best wife you can be, the best manager, director, attorney, teacher, counselor, social worker, or even doctor, using the latest and greatest technology. It is like riding a bicycle, the only way to keep your balance is to keep moving.
Websites, Facebook, Linked In, Instagram, to name just a few are the platforms and tools that are booming with new gadgets, plugins, and apps to sell your company and products better. Which one are you plugging into or are you simply missing out on a world of technology? The fact is most of us have known for a while that you are falling behind in the digital space, calling it computer illiterate, not tech-savvy, and so many other sayings, and sadly some people are still not taking the step to the business of the future and falling further behind.
Take a course on; Entrepreneurship fundamentals, Financial Management, How to raise venture capital and learn to speak “investor”, Social Media and Digital Marketing, Time Management, How to write an elevator pitch, Leadership development, and Microsoft office.
Here are some benefits of being tech-savvy:
- Take collaboration and communication to the next level
- Be a pro at project management
- Increase your workplace productivity, satisfaction, and engagement
- Drive a work environment towards innovation and agility
Create work-life integration, instead of work-life balance
Life is not a series of shortcuts but when it comes to technology it can certainly save you a lot of time. Have fun while being efficient.
“So go ahead and give her the credit that is due, for she has become a radiant woman, and all her loving works of righteousness deserve to be admired at the gateways of every city!”
